The event at Wisteria Antiques turned out to be delightful this year. I'd done it once before several years ago and tried to paint, too. This time we brought 24 paintings, set them all around grounds and in nooks and crannies, and I just was able to chat with new friends and sell paintings! I sold 6, including one giclee order. It was a perfect setting to tuck paintings in amongst the beautiful gardens, listen to the birds and the fountains and sip iced tea. Thanks to everyone who came by to visit and say hello, and especially to my new collector, Kathy, and Carol at a wisteria for inviting me. That same collector bought two more today, plus she ordered a large commission done of one in Big Sur. I also sold six others to a couple for the husband's business offices, and sold another giclee and 145 cards, all in two weeks! The best ever...almost like having Open Studios in June! (Also two others bought two more from the Alvarado Gallery show in Monterey, so that adds up to 16 paintings sold in two weeks total.)

Pink and Blue Garden
I'll be having a one woman show this weekend at the Wisteria Antiques garden/store in Aptos. They call it "Art in the Garden", and I will showing several of my recent plein air landscapes along with garden scenes and some florals. Hope you can come by to see me. It's open from noon to 4:00 Saturday and Sunday.

I will be doing a demo and giving a short lecture on July 9th for the Lake Tahoe Art League, at the Tahoe Senior Center in South Lake Tahoe from 6:00-8:00. Hope some of you can come by to see me and stay for the demo. I will be doing one of Sand Harbor, that I did plein air a few weeks ago there.

I have three paintings in the current MBPAPA signature Show at the Alvarado Gallery in Monterey, at the convention center. I won Honorable Mention with my painting "Pelican Point Arch", 12x12. I was thrilled and surprised to receive the award at the opening reception! The judge/juror was Paul Kratter. Hope you can go by to see the show! Both this painting and one of "Point Lobos Rocks" have already sold.

China Cove, 16x12
I had a fabulous experience this year at the CAF. I painted five paintings, and actually won the "Best Oil Painting" award this year! The judge/juror was John Burton. When he spoke to Lee and me about my work, he said. "When I first walked up to judge the paintings, both of yours stood out. You just knocked them both out of the park!" It was thrilling, and I cried most of the morning for joy! I sold China Cove to a couple from England who had seen me painting it in Pt. Lobos, got two more commissions from them to paint their gardens at their cottage in Camel, and also sold two others from the show later that day. Thank you Lord for your strength and astounding blessings!
