China Cove Spring, 16x20
This is my 17th year competing on the Carmel Art Festival. It's held in Devendorf park on Ocean Avenue in Carmel, May 15-17. We will begin painting on the 13th, and hang them on Friday the 15th about noon. Awards will be given about 5:00, with a reception after. New this year: We will also hang larger studio pieces done beforehand on Sunday. Sure hope you can come by to see all the lovely work from some really great artists!
On a personal note: My dear husband Lee had a heart attack the week before Easter. We're so thankful God rescued him and he's feeling pretty good after 4 stents, along with lots of meds and many MD visits! You can understand I haven't been painting since, so hoping I can paint a few that are worthy of the competition. I do have some lovely new larger pieces for Sunday.

Rocky Creek Bridge Vista
Our new MBPAPA show opens May 1st at the Pacific Grove Art Center from 6-8:00 PM. there will be a reception after the wards given by Paul Kratter. Hope you can come say hello and enjoy all the lovely new paintings.

Perkins Point, 9x12
I will be hosting what will probably be my last Open Studio event at my studio here Santa Cruz on October 11-12, and 18-19, from 11:00-5:00. I will be offering all my pieces in the studio at half price, and some of the unframed pieces will be even less. Please come early for the best selection. We have moved in to our cottage in Pebble Beach, and I hope to have Open Studios there next year. It's a much smaller house and studio, but all on one level, so no stairs! Please call or text me for an appointment at another time if you can't come during these two weekends.

Pacific Grove Pinks, 9x12
I have been crazy busy designing and building our new cottage in Pebble Beach this past year, so sadly, along with my Bible study ministry, not too much time to paint. I'll be out "warming up" in the next two months, getting ready for the Carmel Art Festival, the weekend after Mother's Day, May 14-18. We will hopefully be moving in to the cottage just before the Art Festival, so I hope many of you can come visit me at the event and maybe also come by to see the cottage. (4019 Sunridge Rd, Pebble Beach.) It will be lovely to get to sleep in our own bed and go out to paint easily all along the coast. So grateful and so very excited!

It was another wonderful adventure for the Carmel Art Festival. We had mostly foggy weather with heavy mist, but we still got some lovely paintings. I painted 7 in three days and sold five, and my gallery on Carmel asked for my Gibson Beach painting, so I just brought home one. I loved meeting so many new friends and collectors. Thank you for all who came to support my efforts! It means the world to me! Once again, God gets all the glory, for He helped me every step of the way!

I just learned that my Carmel gallery, James Rieser Fine Art, will be closing as of the end of October, after 26 years in business. I'm really sorry to see this happen, as Jim has been so kind to me and sold so many paintings over the past several years. But, because of his closing, for the first time in many years, I am not in contract with any gallery and can chose to set my own prices, without underselling the galleries. I hope to join another fine gallery that has invited me to show in Carmel after Open Studios.
So, I'm having a huge studio sale! Every painting will be generously discounted. If you have ever wanted to own one my original oils, this is the chance to come by to get one or more at great prices, before I sign a new contract with my new gallery. I will include my latest pieces from the coast and Yosemite and recent trips to the Grand Tetons, etc. There will be hundreds to choose from. Please contact me if you can't make the Open Studio times these next two weekends, and I can plan to meet you here at my studio for a private showing.
Hope to see many of you here. Please bring your checkbooks!

Please come visit and see all the fabulous paintings from the top 60 artists, most of whom are award winners from past years. Judging is Friday at 4:00, awards at 5:00, wine and little plates at 6:00, sales through Sunday afternoon. We'll be out painting Wednesday thru Friday AM. Hope to see you at Devendorf Park Carmel! You can also come vote for People's Choice at 4:30 Friday if you'd like.
Update: It was a fabulous event, in spite of my "long covid" coming back. I sold 5 of the 7 paintings I painted. Always great fun!

Hurricane Point, 20x24 oil
I will be hosting Open Studios here on October 1st and 2nd, from 10:00AM to 5:00 PM. Please come by to visit and see all my new paintings. I will have lots of "bargain basket" pieces, and several half price paintings that are framed. I've also had many new beautiful giclee print cards made of the Grand Tetons and other favorite paintings. I will not be able to host the Encore weekend, as we will be out of state.

Summer Storm
I just received the great news that Jenny Lake Lodge, in the Grand Teton National Park, will be showing some of my artwork! We've gone there over 10 years in the summer, and now that our children live in Bozeman, Montana, we'll be going back each June to stay. I love painting in the park, and I am so excited and honored that they have chosen me to be one of their artists for next year.
