I was thrilled to attend the opening of the latest MBPAPA show at the Pacific Grove Art Center on Friday, May 1st, and be awarded Third Place this year for my painting "Point Lobos Glory". Brian Blood was the juror and judge, and there were over 95 beautiful paintings in the show. It was such an honor to be chosen for an award again this year. I was staying in Carmel a week, attending our annual retreat at Villa Angelica on Monastery Beach with seven other artist friends, and then attending the Calvin Liang workshop through the Carmel Visual Arts Center. I also went by and painted a large commission for a couple from England who bought my China Cove painting that won Best Oil last year at the Carmel Art Festival. They were thrilled with it and it was one of 13 paintings I did last week. Great week all around!
