Carmel Art Festival 2017
It was thrilling to receive Honorable Mention from judge Mian Situ for my painting of China Cove, 12x16. I also participated in the quick Draw on Sunday AM from 9-11, doing one of pink roses. It was a great event with several sales and two commissions and many great divine appointments and conversations. I saw God answer several prayers, especially for joy and strength, since I was feeling quite sore and weak due to side effects from my RA meds. I'm so very grateful!

This and two other paintings are showing at the Natividad Hospital in Salinas for the next several months. I had entered a really large one (24x36) of Big Sur, that sold before the show opened, so this was used as the replacement. I painted this on one of our classic foggy days at Garrapatta State Beach Park.

Sunset Over Carmel River
I will once again be competing in the exciting Carmel Art Festival, May 17-21. The paintings will be turned in Friday evening and judged by 10:00 on Saturday AM. I will be there all day Saturday and Sunday to greet visitors and collectors. Please plan to come by to say hello and vote for People's Choice Award, which I won last year with the above image of Carmel River.

Lifting Fog, First Place
This painting, "Lifting Fog", won First Place at the new Steinbeck Country show for the MBPAPA at the Steinbeck Museum in Salinas. The judge was Paul Kratter, who called me personally to tell me he chose this for best of show and then explained why. It was such a delightful surprise and he was so kind to go the extra mile in calling me! Thank you so much Paul, for such an honor! There are may beautiful paintings in the show, so I really wasn't expecting this award at all. The show will be up for several months there at the Museum, so please try to go by if you're any where near the area.
