Point Lobos Shadows, 12x16 oil
I as thrilled to open a package tonight from MBAPA finding out I won another award; this time at the Natividad Hospital opening event. My painting "Point Lobos Shadows", 1/16 got the Honorable Mention award. I had done it after several months of not being able to paint due to hip bursitis, (caused by painting 44 pieces in a row last summer and early fall in Maine and then England). It was my first plein air of the new year, and I went with a couple of friends from the Santa Cruz Oil Painters group on a lovely bright blue day. I was rusty, but had such a great time. I am so grateful for this award, since I've painted so very little these past several months!
