It was an amazing week in Carmel! I did six paintings in two days, and sold five at the show. Meanwhile, I also received an Honorable Mention for the painting "Misty Cypress" and the People's Choice award for "Coastal Colors" at the Mountainsong Gallery MBPAPA signature show reception Saturday night. I was busy at the festival, replacing my sold paintings with new ones, so wasn't able to be there to receive the awards, but I was getting ready to hang a new painting of China Cove, and a lady bought it even before I put it up! It was a thrilling adventure! I met some wonderful new people, and also took three new commissions for future paintings. I also just heard I was juried in to the 2013 Open Studios in October. More info to follow. We leave tomorrow AM to go to Yosemite for a four day painting trip. Can't wait!

I just was called last minute to join in the Carmel Art Festival, after all! I'm thrilled! I've been invited the past four years, so I really look forward to it each year. This year is the 20th anniversary of the event, so they invited several of the top artists from around the country to attend. Most of the local artists were not juried in this year, due to so many of the big names who are attending. I will be painting Wed thru Fri. night, then hosting the show Saturday and Sunday. Lee is also manning the Mountainsong Gallery on Ocean Avenue with our MBPAPA signature show this same week, which has three of my other paintings. So it would be fun to come see both shows if you can! I'll post more about both events soon! I'm praying for the fog to lift at least some of the time so we can get some paintings with some color and not all of them be gray!
