painting in Pt. Lobos
This photo was taken of me from up above on the cliffs at Pt. Lobos on a beautiful Spring day. One of my favorite places to paint in all the world. I was out the trail to Cypress Point, looking West.

Cecil Bruenners done at the Carmel Art Festival
I will be having a one woman show again this summer at Wisteria Antiques, off Soquel Ave, on July 18-19, 10:00 to 4:00 both days. I will be showing some of my recent floral still life pieces and also some of my favorite landscapes done along our beautiful coast, in Maui and also the Sierras. Please come by to say hello!

I am thrilled to say I received the People's Choice award again this year at this event. That means my painting will be used on all of their future marketing, including the posters, post cards, website, etc. It was a perfect week to paint in the Sierras: 75 degrees, a bit of wind, and still some snow on the peaks. The Sierra lupine were especially gorgeous...acres of blue and purple near the water. The staff said I received almost 40% of the total votes from all the viewers, so it was such a vote of confidence to keep trying my best! They may change the venue for next year, since there weren't as many visitors as last year during the food and wine event at North Star. I only sold one during the weekend, but there were very few other sales. We'll see what they decide to do about next year's event...I'll keep you posted.
